We are committed to helping the residents of the Rockfield Triangle and the wider Anfield area by addressing the important issues that have blighted the Anfield community for so long. EXPECT US

The Theoretical Anfield Project 2013

Picture
We are concerned that the proposed Anfield Project is a modernized blueprint of  the secretive1999 expansion plan and it's priority is to enhance LFC's profits – most of the proposals are
entirely based around the match day audience – hotel, catering and expansion.

250 NEW HOMES: 296 properties in the area are to be demolished to make way for the new developments. In light of the current economic climate, we find it really hard to justify the demolition of almost 300 homes only to build 250 anew. The city's mayor, Joe Anderson has talked of partnership and regeneration, jobs and businesses which can be attracted once Liverpool Football Club have expanded. Yes, that's what he said: Once LFC have EXPANDED.

700 JOBS: There is no current DOCUMENTED evidence to prove that 700 jobs will be created. It's a theoretical projection based upon LFC EXPANSION and construction jobs. The theory is flawed because any construction jobs created are usually filled by construction experts who use
their own employees/team. When the construction has been completed they move on to the next job. However, LFC expansion would create jobs, it is uncertain how many or under what terms: full-time, part-time or seasonal - ZERO HOURS?

BUSINESS/ FOOD HUBS: The creation of the avenue and the construction of a 100-bed hotel, have nothing to do with regeneration, THE AVENUE is about unlawfully removing the rights to light of local residents allowing LFC to expand, THE HOTEL will cater to a match day and corporate package audience. The residents of Anfield have homes, why do we need a 100-bed hotel?

We've been informed that a local charity, Positive Futures (a charity, that's very unusual) will own the hotel and employ 50 local people with the capacity to offer hospitality training to a further ten people at any given time. http://www.positivefuturesnorthliverpool.co.uk/

It is expected that a leading hotel brand would be sought to assist in the hotel’s operation and marketing.

• Who would pay for the hotel?

• Why would a charity with no obvious hotel experience want a brand new 100-bed hotel?

The proposed new Food Hub would be a 10,000 sq ft facility built in Stanley Park and would offer
food production, preparation and service.

IN OTHER WORDS: it would cater to visiting match day crowds by producing, preparing and serving food and drink.

The residents of Anfield who have always used Stanley Park do not need a food hub, we can use our own cookers and ovens or even microwaves to prepare our own choice of nutrition.

• Do any other Public Parks in the City of Liverpool have food hubs?

RESTORATION OF STANLEY PARK: The Anfield area has already seen the restoration of Stanley Park including the Isla Gladstone Conservatory:

In 2007, Stanley Park and The Isla Gladstone Conservatory became major factors in the dream for urban regeneration in Liverpool. The Gladstone building, which originally cost only £12,000 to build and a massive £12 million to restore, now sits 1.5 metres higher than before. http://www.theislagladstone.co.uk/

Between November 2007 and July 2009 a multi - million pound restoration project took place in Stanley Park, funded by European and Housing Market Renewal funds to restore the sandstone terrace and rose garden, the bridges and
other architectural features, renew planting with new plants and trees, and put back the third lake which had been filled in the 1960s.

Over the last decade millions of pounds in government and European grants have been spent in Anfield, yet not a single penny has been spent in the blighted roads and streets (the promised land) that surround LFC's stadium.

During the last two decades LFC has invested over £700m on player transfers and spent a conservative estimate of £300m on player wages, then an estimated £75m on severance packages. With all this money and in all that time, not a single LFC penny has been invested into the homes
that LFC own in the blighted roads and streets that surround it's stadium.
