The Triangle Website members volunteer their time and knowledge of key issues that have blighted this area of Anfield for many years! Hundreds of homes in this area have been demolished under one scheme or another and less than one hundred have been built to replace them! That could easily equate to 800+ families or two to three thousand individuals who have been debased from their Anfield homes in the name of regeneration.
Liverpool football club, Liverpool city council and Arena/Your housing group (driven by the secretive 1999 Anfield Plus plans) have treated this area with the utmost of contempt, they should be made accountable for the premeditated way that they have negatively affected our quality of life and our neighbourhood. The once proud Anfield community has been decimated What Liverpool Football Club have done to the area surrounding the stadium and the locale of Anfield in general is a genuine disgrace. For several decades now, LFC have implemented their own plans (they did the same in Kemlyn, Skerries and Anfield Roads) this whole process has been manipulated in LFC's favour and the city council are at the helm of it. It wasn't until very recently that LFC actually admitted they did own a large percentage of the derelict homes in the Rockfield area - although they refused to say how many. After 15 years of passing the buck and official denials! "The PARTNERS" would have you believe that they operated independently of each other while producing identical long term dereliction results in the exact areas outlined in1999. LFC’s proposed stadium expansion plans acted as a catalyst for a proposal to demolish properties in the Rockfield area. The strength of local feeling against this proposal led to the Council making a commitment to the local community that any future strategy would be led by the local community.
LFC have succeeded in surreptitiously acquiring MANY properties to use as TROJAN HOMES in what can only be described as an artificial or deceptive ploy to manipulate the surrounding environment and public opinion. The sh*t-hole, as football fans like to call it, was created by The Partners to manipulated public opinion, not our opinion, we know the truth - YOUR OPINION. How does it feel to have your opinion manipulated by "The Partners" corporate press machine and it's media sound bites? Do you realise that for the past 15 years or more LFC have lied to every resident and every reds fan alike. It cuts us residents who are fans in two. There was never going to be a "New Stadium", they just needed the stalling time to decimate this community and create an artificial decline in the areas they so desperately needed for expansion. The club was running down the area deliberately, you don't "accidentally" relinquish 15 years worth of rent and you do not "accidentally" leave properties empty. You have to do it for a reason! The glaringly obvious one is that they could encourage more people to leave, and at a lower price by turning the area around Anfield stadium into a residential nightmare.
