I wonder who is it that you believe hasn’t been consulted? I am probably one of the most visible and accessible MPs in the whole country and spend every Friday (on my return from Westminster) and most weekends visiting projects, events and residents throughout the Walton area, where I have lived all my married life.
I hold 5 Advice Surgeries per month, including 1 in Anfield. I have a fully staffed office in the constituency and I am accessible through social media sites. The fact that I recently attended a residents meeting in Anfield at St Columba's church with the Police Commissioner and received many letters and emails thanking me for my input into those discussions, blows the myth (that I never visit the area) completely out of the water.
Have you ever asked to meet with me? I am certain the answer will be no - and therefore it is shameful to jump on the bandwagon of "we never see him" (which is the oldest political trick in the book) when it is patently untrue. I have made no secret of the fact that I am a Liverpool supporter and season ticket holder and that I fought for the very survival of one of the biggest employers in the North of Liverpool when the previous owners took the club to within minutes of bankruptcy. I believe both football clubs are vital to the future prosperity of my constituents and our whole City. You should not conflate my campaigning for Justice for the 96 with my support for LFC. In fact, it would be accurate to say at present that I have no ongoing relationship with Liverpool FC, whilst conversely I visit Everton Football Club on a regular basis and work closely with Everton in the Community (but why would you let the truth get in the way of a lie!?).
You are entirely wrong to state that I have sat in the XXXXXXXXXXXX at Anfield this season, and if you feel emboldened enough to wish to repeat this allegation, I would be happy to point you in the direction of my legal representative, who no doubt would wish to discuss such defamation by you further. Just to make things absolutely clear, I have NOT sat in the XXXXXXXXXXXX at any game at Anfield this season and this is the sort of scurrilous rumour that is used to try to damage me as this might point to me somehow being indebted to a particular football club.
